New Moon Rabbit Rescue Annual Garage and Bake Sale

The New Moon Rabbit Rescue Garage and Bake Sale is very quickly approaching. 

The sale will be held on Friday, May 18 from noon to 5pm and Saturday, May 19 from 8:00am -3:00pm.  It is again being held at the Harry Craig Centre, 6045 Prince Of Wales Drive.

As always, there will be a bake sale as part of this event. We are looking for donations of baked goods to sell. Loaves (banana bread, etc.), squares, brownies, cookies, etc. tend to sell fairly well at this event. But please keep in mind that the bake sale will be OUTDOORS, so it is best to avoid things that will melt if it is warm and sunny! I do ask that all baking be packaged, ready to sell and that it be dropped off to us on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. (If these times don’t suit, we can make individual arrangements.) If anyone is interested in baking, but not sure what to make, best ways to package, etc, please ask and I’ll help you out. If you are able to donate some baking, please let me know and give me an idea of what you are going to make so that I can ensure that we have a variety of items.

Along with the Garage and Bake Sale, we are also having a Plant Sale. If you are a gardener and have any plants that you would like to donate, please let me know! Last year I dug lots of baby perennials from my flower beds and divided a lot of my bigger plants. They all sold really well. We also had some donations of house plants they sold very quickly! If you start your own vegetables and have any extra plants, I am sure that they would sell as well!

Please try to have plants labelled (a popsicle stick with the name written in permanent marker stuck in the soil works well). And if possible (especially for perennials), a photo or description of what the mature plant/flower looks like is helpful!

We are also looking for volunteers for Thursday (afternoon and evening), Friday (all day) and Saturday (all day) and Sunday (afternoon).

Adoption Event This Weekend!!

We are happy to announce that we have been invited to participate in Pet Valu's Pet Appreciation Weekend!!

On 14 & 15 April 2012, New Moon Rabbit Rescue will be on location from 11am - 3pm at Manotick and Kanata Centrum locations (please see flyer below for more details).  Saturday 14 April in Kanata and 15 April in Manotick will be Adoption Events.  If you are interested in adopting you can fill out an application at the event.  Applications must be approved in order to adopt.  If you are all set up and your new bunny would be able to go home that day, bring some pictures of your set up!!  Check out our Facebook Page or Twitter later this week to see what bunnies will be joining us!

100% of monetary donations raised at the Manotick location during this months event will go to New Moon Rabbit Rescue!!  Don't forget to visit Pet Valu in Manotick (1160 Beaverwood Rd) and Buy a Paw, Help Save a Bunny!!  They will also be collecting donations of litter, food etc.

Every Bunny Needs A Home 2012

With the goal of finding forever homes for all the rabbits currently waiting, especially those that have been waiting too long, for the month of February New Moon will be lowering all adoption fees by 50%.  This is our second year for our "Every Bunny Needs A Home" event so let's make it bigger and better than the last!
