Bunny Profile - Fozzie

Fozzie is a cute little chocolate coloured Netherland Dwarf. He is one of 10 rabbits that came to New Moon Rabbit Rescue on 27 June 2011 as part of a massive SPCA seizure of 200+ rabbits in the Manitoulin Island area.

Fozzie, as well as the other nine rabbits from the seizure were all treated for Pasteurella and other respiratory issues due to their pasteurella infections as well as several other health issues. Fozzie responded very quickly to his treatment and made an excellent recovery.  Fozzie also had a small abscess removed at the time of his neuter and is due for a recheck with his Doctor to make sure everything is doing well.

Fozzie is available for adoption.

Fozzie is a wonderful little man. He is curious and friendly and is looking for a forever home so he can continue with his new and wonderful life.

A few months ago Fozzie was one of several bunnies that had the pleasure of taking a trip in to the city to tape a segment for a local morning show.  He was a joy to be around and was the calmest and most well behaved bunny that has ever been in this situation.  He played constantly and was saying hello to anyone he could meet.  Fozzie is going to make someone very happy!

He is doing well with his litter training and like most buns enjoys stretching out and having a nap in his litter box. He likes to investigate far and wide and absolutely loves his run time.  He never wants it to end.

Fozzie has grown to be healthy and happy and transformed into a beautiful loving little boy.  He is a far cry from the sad and sick bunny that arrived months ago.  The terrible sun bleaching in his coat has finally grown out and he has left his past behind.

Out of a play!

Bunny Profile - Radar

Radar is a cute little agouti Netherland Dwarf. He is one of 10 rabbits that came to New Moon Rabbit Rescue on 27 June 2011 as part of a massive SPCA seizure of 200+ rabbits in the Manitoulin Island area.

Radar, as well as the other nine rabbits from the seizure were all treated for Pasteurella and other respiratory issues due to their pasteurella infections as well as several other health issues.  Radar responded very quickly to his treatment and made a excellent recovery.

Radar is currently available for adoption.

Radar is a very sweet and happy bunny.  He is social and enjoys the quiet and calm company of others.  Radar likes to play “hide and seek” and has made squeezing in to small spaces an art.  He is not terribly interested in toys and would rather run around hopping and binkying.  He is not a big chewer but does tend to enjoy a good nibble when he has found a good place to hide.  Radar might very much like some cardboard tunnels and playhouses to keep him busy.

Radar loves his freedom and chance at a real life.  He is enjoying his foster family and lets them know by giving lots of kisses.  He is doing well with the cats and may be interested in someday having a bunny friend to play with.  Radar is doing very well with his litter training and does not have any accidents outside his cage.

Bunny Profile - Eric

On 1 August 2009, at only 4 weeks old, Eric arrived with his nine brothers and sisters after being rescued from an burrow underneath a families front deck. Many of his brothers and sisters have already found their forever homes while Eric still waits. Eric is a gorgeous young boy with a pure white coat and blue/gray points. He also has red eyes which may be the very reason he still waits for a home. Many people find red eyes to be unattractive or even disturbing. Leaving some of the most affectionate and loving rabbits waiting for homes for far too long.

In the words of his current foster mum;

“Eric is still somewhat nervous in general. For the most part when he is laid back and relaxing he can be bit standoffish. I don’t think it’s so much that he’s shy, it’s more like he’s his own man and just not a cuddle bunny. He’ll accept a head rub on his own terms when he’s ready, and not a minute before!! Eric is quite the explorer and loves checking out his area after things have been changed around, or inspecting rooms outside his area.

There were only a couple of problems with him chewing corners in the beginning, but he quickly caught on that the cardboard and wood structures and toys were much better. He does very well free range 24/7. I can’t really say he has any bad habits and he has almost perfect litter habits, leaving only a few “cocoa puffs” right outside his litter boxes.

He likes to stretch his legs every now and then with a good bunny 500 run, then follow it up with a nice flop. When allowed he loves to laze the day away under the bed. He’ll chew his way through grass balls, and nibble to his heart’s content on grass mats (especially when treats are hidden in the weave). Eric doesn’t like being picked up, or getting head/body rubs for too long! (but did enjoy cuddles with a previous foster) And he’s not a connoisseur of horror movies...”
